Sustainably Certified Products Help New Chapter Advance Climate Action and Grow Global Product Sales

Earning the ClimeCo Certified Product™ badge is an important step in deepening that commitment, it validates the work we’re doing to reduce our products’ footprint and gives our customers a trusted way to choose supplements that support their wellbeing and a healthier world.

Problem/Challenge:
New Chapter, a leading manufacturer of organic vitamins and dietary supplements, set out to find impactful sustainability pathways to achieve its ambitious 2030 Climate Action Plan and advance its sustainability strategy. A critical element of this plan was to reduce its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions – at both the brand and the product level – while also helping current and future New Chapter customers easily access the brand’s sustainable products.
Solution/Approach:
In 2021, New Chapter began conducting product lifecycle assessments to better understand its products’ emissions impact. In 2022, New Chapter joined ClimeCo’s Certified Product™ Program, committing to reducing product-level emissions based on the cradle-to-grave product lifecycle assessments. Since then, New Chapter has continued to implement decarbonization strategies within its value chain and invested in carbon reduction projects around the world, including supporting alternative energy and gas capture projects, through ClimeCo.
As a business-driving value-add to New Chapter, participation in the ClimeCo Certified Product™ Program also qualified New Chapter’s certified products to receive the Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly badge, earning recognition from sustainability-conscious consumers and credibly signaling to these consumers that New Chapter’s products meet rigorous sustainability standards and deliver verified climate impact.
Benefits/Results:
Through this partnership, ClimeCo has helped New Chapter advance toward its 2030 Climate Action Plan, drive its sustainability goals of offering Better Products and taking Better Climate Action, earn the Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly product badges, and support tangible business growth. Products carrying the Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly badge achieve strong consumer recognition, with an average +12% higher sales lift in the first year of joining. [1] Building on this momentum, New Chapter has increased its portfolio to more than 100 registered products in 2024 and, by mid-2025, has realized year-over-year double digit registered product sales growth over the past three years. This alignment of climate action with consumer trust underscores how sustainability can deliver measurable results for both the planet and the bottom line.
