ClimeCo Certified Product™ Program Reapproved for Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly Badge

Program reapproval ensures consumers can continue identifying ClimeCo-certified products on Amazon as trusted choices that meet sustainability standards.

BOYERTOWN, Pennsylvania (August 13, 2025) – ClimeCo, a global decarbonization company, is proud to announce Amazon has reapproved its ClimeCo Certified Product™ Program for continued participation in the Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) program. This milestone reinforces ClimeCo’s leadership in enabling brands to both meet their climate goals and cater to their sustainability-conscious consumers.

Formerly known as the CarbonFree® Product Certification, the ClimeCo Certified Product™ Program helps brands credibly measure, reduce, and mitigate product carbon footprints through a rigorous, third-party verified methodology. Amazon’s reapproval means that participating ClimeCo-certified products will continue to display the Climate Pledge Friendly (CPF) badge, which helps shoppers easily identify products with trusted certifications that meet sustainability standards. ClimeCo continues to work with the Amazon team to complete the full rebranding and badging of its certified products, transitioning from the legacy Carbonfree badge to the ClimeCo Certified Product™ badge, and expects this transition to be completed in the coming months.

“Consumers want confidence in the sustainability claims behind the products they buy,” said Linda Kelly, Senior Vice President, Certification Programs at ClimeCo. “This continued recognition in the Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly program validates the credibility and transparency we build into every ClimeCo-certified product.”

Program Requirements

To participate in the ClimeCo Certified Product™ Program, companies must:

  • Submit a cradle-to-grave life cycle assessment with product carbon footprint of the products they seek to register
  • Identify and implement continual measures to reduce the products’ carbon footprint
  • Support emissions reduction and removal projects around the world to decarbonize registered products’ annual carbon emissions

Boosting Business Through Climate Action

Participation in the Climate Pledge Friendly program delivers compelling business advantages. Products with the CPF badge see an average 12% higher sales lift and a 10% lift in glance views within the program’s first year[1]. ClimeCo-certified products gain direct access to these business benefits while also advancing the participating company’s sustainability and climate goals.

Leading the Way

Through its suite of certification offerings, ClimeCo continues to support businesses in transforming climate ambition into measurable, market-ready action. As global demand for sustainable products grows, ClimeCo stands ready to help companies meet it – credibly and transparently.
