This sustainability platform helps individuals and companies track and reduce the environmental footprint of their artificial intelligence (AI) usage via a simple browser plug-in. Through this collaboration, every Offset AI user can now measure the environmental impact of their AI usage and automatically offset their environmental footprint with ClimeCo’s high-quality, verified climate projects, ensuring that the environmental cost of AI innovation is balanced by meaningful climate action.
AI’s rapid growth comes with a growing environmental burden. By 2027, AI data centers could use as much electricity as a country the size of the Netherlands.1 Offset AI’s browser extension allows users to measure the footprint of their AI prompts in real time and automatically support projects that restore ecosystems, improve water resources, and cut emissions.
