Cynthia Cummis leads ClimeCo’s value chain strategy work, helping companies set credible climate targets and reduce emissions across their value chains through impactful solutions such as insetting. She brings 30 years of experience building standards and programs that defined corporate climate leadership and advising the private sector on credible climate action, including most recently as a Climate Specialist Leader at Deloitte and Touche and prior roles as Director of Corporate Climate Mitigation at the World Resources Institute and Director of the US EPA Climate Leaders program.
While at WRI, Cynthia co-founded the Science Based Targets initiative and co-led the initiative for 8 years. Her roles at WRI also included leading the development of the GHG Protocol Scope 3 and Product Lifecycle Standards, followed by serving as the Deputy Director of the GHG Protocol. Her expertise spans corporate GHG accounting, target setting, climate mitigation strategies, carbon markets and climate policy, along with a track record of building the multi-stakeholder coalitions that turn technical standards into common practice. Currently, she is an active member of the GHG Protocol AMI Technical Working Group and the AIM Platform Governance Committee.
